Under the hood

Not a chatbot
with some PDFs.

Most offline AI tools dump a language model onto a hard drive and call it done. ARKVOR is built differently — from the knowledge up.

The core insight

The model isn't the product.
The system around it is.

A language model is a commodity. You can download one for free. What you can't download is expert-curated knowledge organized for retrieval under pressure, a pipeline that decomposes your question into the right sub-queries across the right domains, or a guided workflow that walks you through wound care step-by-step instead of dumping five paragraphs and hoping you figure it out.

That system — what we call the harness — is what makes ARKVOR work. The model delivers the words. The harness determines whether those words save your life.

01

Curated knowledge, not data dumps.

ARKVOR doesn't index Wikipedia and hope for the best. There are no crowd-edited articles, no algorithmically scraped web pages, no unvetted data dumps. Every piece of knowledge in the system was hand-selected from authoritative sources, verified against field-tested references, and structured for retrieval under pressure.

18 knowledge domains

Emergency medicine, water purification, shelter construction, fire craft, food preservation, vehicle repair, navigation, communications, foraging, and more. Each domain is sourced from authoritative references — military field manuals, federal emergency guides, USDA publications, and field-tested off-grid references.

14 regional knowledge sets

Pacific Northwest mushrooms are different from Southeast edible plants. ARKVOR knows. Region-specific content covers local wildlife, native plants, seasonal patterns, and climate-appropriate techniques — because "how do I find water" has a different answer in the Mojave than in the Appalachians.

Section-aware structure

Knowledge files aren't treated as flat text. Every chunk retains its source, section heading, and domain context. When ARKVOR retrieves information, it knows exactly where it came from and can pull related sections when relevant.

02

Retrieval built for emergencies.

When you ask a question, ARKVOR doesn't just search for matching words. It runs a multi-stage pipeline designed to surface the right knowledge for your specific situation.

1

Analyze

Your question is analyzed for scenario type — survival, medical, mechanical, identification — and broken into targeted sub-queries across the relevant knowledge domains. "I'm lost in Oregon with a broken ankle" generates separate queries for survival priorities, fracture care, and Pacific Northwest specifics.

2

Route

Location context — stated or inferred from conversation history — directs retrieval to the right regional knowledge. If you mentioned Oregon three messages ago, ARKVOR remembers and pulls Pacific Northwest content even when you don't repeat it.

3

Optimize

Results are ranked, filtered for quality, and assembled into a focused answer. ARKVOR would rather give you less information than wrong information — and ensures the model always has the right context to answer well, even on a compact offline processor.

03

A system that adapts to your situation.

Generic chatbots treat every question the same. ARKVOR changes how it communicates based on what you're dealing with.

2. Irrigate with the cleanest water you have
3. Close edges with butterfly strips or tape
4. Elevate above heart — watch for redness, swelling, warmth
How deep is the wound? That'll determine if you need to pack it.
Same question. Very different answer when it actually matters.

Session memory

ARKVOR tracks your location, group composition, available supplies, injuries, and time context across the entire conversation. You say "I'm in Montana with my wife and two kids" once — every answer after that accounts for it.

Guided workflows

For critical procedures — wound care, splint application, water purification, fire starting — ARKVOR walks you through step by step. It confirms each step before moving to the next. It doesn't dump a wall of text and hope you sort it out under stress.

Situational modes

Emergency medical questions get terse, numbered steps with critical actions first. Survival situations get calm, prioritized directives. Homesteading questions get patient, thorough explanations. The knowledge is the same — the delivery matches the stakes.

04

Why a dedicated device?

You could run offline AI on a laptop or phone. People do. But those devices weren't built for this — and it shows when it matters most.

Phones and laptops fail

Consumer hardware isn't built for the field. Batteries die in hours under load. Screens crack. Fans clog with dust. A laptop in a wet pack is a liability. ARKVOR is IP67 sealed, fanless, solar-assisted, and EMP-resilient — designed to survive the conditions where you need it.

Connects to any screen

ARKVOR has no built-in screen by design. It creates its own local WiFi network — no router, no internet connection, no service provider. Connect any device with a browser — your phone, a tablet, a laptop, a borrowed device. Lose your phone? Grab anything with a screen. The knowledge lives on ARKVOR, not on the device you're reading it from.

Always ready, zero setup

No boot sequence. No operating system updates. No Docker containers or Python dependencies. Press the power button, connect, ask. ARKVOR is on and answering in seconds — because emergencies don't wait for software to initialize.

1 TB of dedicated storage

Your phone's storage is shared with photos, apps, and system files. Your laptop fights for disk space with everything else you do. ARKVOR's full terabyte is dedicated entirely to knowledge, models, and retrieval infrastructure — nothing competes for space.

05

Security without compromise.

A device this capable needs to be protected. ARKVOR is designed so that if someone finds it, they can't access your information — and if you forget your credentials, you can still get back in without an internet connection.

PIN-protected access

Every ARKVOR session requires a PIN to access the web interface. No PIN, no access — even if someone has the device in hand. Set it on first boot and change it anytime.

Offline recovery phrase

During setup, ARKVOR generates a recovery phrase — like a backup key you write down and store separately. Forget your PIN? Enter the phrase to reset it. No internet required. No call to support. Full self-sufficiency.

Physical reset

A recessed hardware button (pin-tool required) performs a full session wipe — clears all conversation history and resets the PIN. Your knowledge library stays intact. Last resort, always available, no credentials needed.

Encrypted storage

All data on ARKVOR is encrypted at rest. Conversations are ephemeral by default — wiped on reboot unless you choose to persist them. If the device is lost, your questions and session context go with it.

06

Why this matters.

You can download a language model for free. You can install Wikipedia on a hard drive. You can duct-tape together a dozen open-source tools and call it an offline knowledge system.

But when your daughter has a gash on her arm and you're 40 miles from the nearest hospital — you don't want to troubleshoot a Docker container, hope a Wikipedia article covers wound closure techniques, or pray that a generic chatbot gives you the right steps in the right order.

You want verified procedures, delivered step-by-step, by a system that already knows you're in the backcountry with two kids and a first aid kit. That's what ARKVOR does.

The model is the delivery mechanism. The harness is the product.
